Busch Gardens
We were able to have some family fun on Sunday and we took a trip up to Busch Gardens. We went with two other families from our court so that we would have plenty of hands and eyes to watch over the 3 little girls. It was so hot!!! The first thing that we did when we got into the park was go to the new Sesame Street area. There are a few kid friendly rides and there is also a water area and a show put on by the characters. Nick and I took Blair on the worm ride and Blair was not a humongous fan but she did OK. Blair did not like the big characters either. I tried to get a picture with Ernie, but Blair just cried! After we finished with the few rides that were in this area, Blair and I got some Dippin' Dots and watched our friends go on Escape from Pompeii. I had forgotten Blair's breakfast in the car, so Dippin' Dots was her breakfast. After our snack, we headed over and put the little girls on the Little Gliders ride and the Hot Air Balloon ride. Blair like the Little Gliders ride! We headed over to Apollo's Chariot and Nick was awesome and stayed with the girls. Our next stop was to grab another snack for the kids and some cold drinks and take a break from the heat. During our break, we played a few games and got Blair a stuffed duck and a Scooby Doo. Blair loved the duck and was so excited about it. Almost everyone wanted to go on Roman Rapids and get soaked so Elliot and I stayed behind with the girls. Everyone came off of the ride SOAKED! We took another break and headed out to the cars to eat lunch. After lunch, we headed over to Griffin. And that is when the lightning and thunder started. We ended up waiting about an hour between the storm and then making sure that the storm had passed before the ride was open again. I stayed with the girls while everyone else went and rode. Our next stop was a 4D ride called Corkscrew Hill. After that, we stared to walk over to the Big Bad Wolf and the rain started again. We hung out in one of the shops and waited for the storm to pass. Nick and I had bought food passes online so we decided that we would have dinner and then leave. Everyone else we were with, went home before we ate. Since the day was mostly rainy and they had to close the rides, we were able to get rain passes to go back another day. I think that we are going to go back for Hallowscream in October. All in all, it was a fun hot, rainy day.
