Girls day!
Blair and I had a fun filled girls day today. Nick went up to Richmond with our neighbor, Elliot to an Indy Car Race. Blair and I invited Noma, Brittni, Kat, Karina, and Catherine to come to the zoo with us. It was hot, but not as hot as the first time that we went. Blair had a fantastic time looking at the animals. She was really noticing them more this time. She pointed at almost all of the bigger animals that were moving around. We were a little disappointed because the giraffes were not out, but we did get to see them in their pens. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. Blair even let the goat eat out of her hand! I was so surprised that she did it! I guess having two other kids with us makes a difference. We spent about 3 hours at the zoo wondering around. Blir fell asleep as we were walking out to the cars and Karina and Catherine slept on the way home. After we got back to the house, we headed over to Kats house and jumped in their pool. We had a fun swim and wore everyone out again after their naps. All together, it was a fantastic day!!!

Fathers day
For Father's day, Nick decided that he wanted to take Blair to the Virginia Aquarium. We had a great time. Blair was amazed at the size of the fish since she has only seen our fish and they are much smaller than the ones that we saw at the aquarium. I only got in a few pictures before the camera died. I will take more the next time that we go in the fall.

Birthday Party!!!!
Blair's first birthday party was this past Saturday. We had it a week after her birthday since we were flying back from Courtney and Austin's wedding on Blair's birthday. We had tons of friends and family come. It was the hottest day of the year. The high was 94 that day. The house was a million degrees with everyone inside. Thank you all for hanging out in our VERY hot house! Blair got lots of great gifts and books. Nick is very happy for the new books because he is over "Mr. Brown can Moo." Blair was very dainty when she ate her cake. She really just picked off the icing.
So here is the story of Blair's first birthday cake. I made her cake. I had great plans for it but it was not what I had planned on doing, but it turned out great anyway. I searched online and ended up finding a super cute 3-D Rubber Duck cake pan from Wilton (appropriate Zeta's, huh?). It is a 2 piece cake pan. You fill the bottom piece up with batter and then put the top on and the cake rises into the top.
I'm so happy that I made a practice cake. I would have been really embarrassed if that is what I presented to my precious baby girl for her first birthday cake. Anyway. After making 2 more cakes, each with more batter to hopefully rise to fill the whole pan, the cake still looked like Sloth. I was very disappointed with Wilton. After making a third cake, mom put the two sides together and realized that the sides were not even the same shape! So it was not me, it was the cake pan. So I ended up cutting the bad side of the duck off and just laying the good side down on a round cake. It turned out great anyway and was very yummy!

We had a great time! Thanks for everyone who came!!!

Remember this guy from the movie "The Goonies"??? Kinda looks like my cake... grrrr!

Look what I found on the side of the road!
I found a wagon!!! When we took Blair to the beach last week, we found a wagon on the side of the road. The only thing that was wrong with it was that the back axial was broken but I knew that Nick would be able to fix it so I ran back to moms house and grabbed my car so that I could scoop up the wagon before someone else did. It cost us less than $10 to fix it! Thanks DaDa!!!
Fun game
Hunter loves laser pointers. I mean, he really, really, really loves them. We can't even say the word without him getting very excited. He loves to chase them around and try to catch the red dot. Well, apparently, he thinks that a flash light is the same thing so our new game is to give Blair the flash light and let her run around with it. Hunter has fun running around after the light and Blair thinks that it is one of the funniest things in the world. She runs around the house laughing so hard at Hunter. It's great exercise for both of them!

12 month checkup
Blair had her 12 month check up last week. She weighs 19 pounds and 12.5 ounces and is 30 inches tall. She got 4 shots in her arms. This was the first time that they did it in her arms. It really was the most horrible thing when she got them. We go back when she is 15 months for her next checkup. I'm going to wait until that checkup to get a new car seat since I doubt that she will go over 22 pounds, which is the max weight for our car seat.
