Pumpink carving

Our friends Kelly and Karl invited us and a few other families over to carve pumpkins last night. We took one of our two pumpkins over since we got there late and we knew that it would take a while to carve our pumpkin. Blair was a bit overwhelmed by all of the kids but after a while, she warmed up and played in the pumpkin goo with some spoons. Blair loved her pumpkin!!!! Nick did a great job with it!

Cleaning

Blair is going through a cleaning phase. I really hope that this one sticks around! She loves to clean the floor with a wipe. One night while my mom was watching Blair, she cleaned the floor for an hour! She is such a big helper!!!

Making cookies with Mom

I have a cookie exchange in December for my monthly Alumni group get together. I bought a fun cookie magazine and am going to try a few recipes out and see what I like best and what does not take tons of time to make. I started with these triangle shaped cookies and although they tasted good, they were very time consuming to make. I may make these again but not for the exchange. Blair helped me out making the filling and after I let her stir the pot, I realized that it probably wasn't the best idea to let my toddler help to stir in a pot on the stove, but the pot barely got warm so she did not get burned. Sorry there are no finished product pictures, but the cookies looked horrible but they tasted good!

ODU Football!

Our friend, Teresa, had two extra tickets to the ODU football game so she was wonderful and invited Nick and I to the game and to tailgate beforehand. It was so cold while we tailgated but Blair kept warm by eating peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! We headed over to Foreman field and got to our seats right at kick off. I don't know anything about football so I just cheered when everyone else was cheering and booed when they booed but it was fun. Blair like the cheerleaders and the mascot, but unfortunately, we were sitting by Campbells cheerleaders and mascot... We ended up just staying until the end of half time since it was so cold and misty. I can't wait to go to another game!!! Thanks T!!!!!

Race for the Cure

Nick, Blair and I headed down to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront early in the morning so that I could help out in the Survivor Tent with the alumni group and Nick and Blair walked in the race. Nick has been the Team Captain for his work for several years now. Despite the weather, cold and misty, there was a great turnout and we had fun!

12 Teeth!

Blair's year molars have finally come through. It was really rough to get these in. She would wake up every night screaming so she had to sleep in our bed for about 6 weeks until they came through. I hate having her in our bed but we get sleep that way...

Pumpkin Picking

Last year we took Blair to the local Farmers Market to pick out a pumpkin. I thought that it would be fun to go to a farm this year instead so that we cout get the pumpkin right from the field. I found another farm on pickyourown.org. We headed out to Brookdale Farm in Chesapeake. There were 6 rows of pumpkins. The pumpkins were all very nice and a great size. We picked out two pumpkins. I tried to find the biggest ones that I could find so that I could get another cute picture with Blair in the pumpkin again but I'm not sure if they really are big enough. I guess we will see in a few weeks!
