Busch Gardens
We went to Busch Gardens with the Simpson's and of course picked a hot day. Even with the heat, we had a great time. Blair rode a ride in Sesame Street World, the Teacups 3 times, the Hot Air Balloons about 10 times, the Little Flyer's and the Carousel once. Nick is still joking me about watching Blair ride the Hot Air Balloon ride. It just really shocked me that in a year since we had gone last, she had grown up so much and was willing and able to ride rides by herself and wave at me while she was doing them. I realized that she really is growing up to be an independent girl. I guess I just don't realize that until we are put in a situation where I can't be there right next to her while she does it. I was the crazy mom that was crying watching my kid ride a ride! We had a blast and can't wait to go back and see what Blair accomplishes there next summer!

Dress up!!!
Blair was given a Tinkerbell dress from one of my coworkers for her birthday. She has not liked to have it on very often and actually asked to put it on today! She dumped all of her toys out of the plastic bin and brought it in the kitchen and posed for me. She was being so silly!!! She also likes to get really close to the lens and look to see if she can see me and then wants to see the pictures that we take of her.

Pick your own - Blueberry picking!
We had a fun afternoon picking blueberries with the Fosback's. We drove to the blueberry and blackberry farm in the pouring rain and ended up being chased out by the rain as well. The blueberries were so yummy! Blair ate her way through the fields. I wish we had picked more so that they would have lasted longer than a week!!! We will be going back next summer!!!!

4th of July fun
We were so lucky to have some visitors for 4th of July weekend. Grandma and Patti were able to come up from South Carolina and spend the weekend with us. It was really cool to see Blair really interact with Grandma. Blair had Grandma read some books to her and Blair also showed Grandma around the house.
We were able to take a little road trip to Knott's Island and go to a winery and do a wine tasting. The wine was good! Knott's Island has tons of dragonflies all over the place!!!! Blair loved watching them fly all around.
I got creative for the weekend as well. I made red, white and blue cupcakes with red and blue sprinkles and a red chocolate star! We all really enjoyed eating our patriotic cupcakes!
I was really excited to take Blair to see the fireworks at the beach this year. We are so lucky that mom lives 3 blocks from the beach. We walked down to the beach to see the fireworks that they were setting off at the Oceanfront. It's so cool that we can avoid a lot of the tourist traffic but still be able to enjoy everything. Blair did OK with the fireworks. On Saturday, she did get scared of them, but I think it was because she was just startled by them. We kept telling her that they were fireworks and that they were very pretty. She calls them Boom Booms! While we were at the beach, Blair did really well. She was a little nervous since there were people setting fireworks off all around us until the big show started. But once the show started she did watch them.
It was a great weekend and we can't wait to be able to head down to Charleston to hang out with the family there!!! Thanks so much for coming up to see us Grandma and Patti!!!!

24 month checkup
Blair hates the doctor. I mean, she really hates going to the doctor. She was fine in the waiting room, but as soon as she saw the nurse, she lost it. The appointment went well other than the kicking, screaming, crying and flailing that she did while the nurse and doctor were around.. She weighs 24 pounds and 7 ounces (25th percentile) and is 34 inches tall (50th percentile). Overall, everything looked good, but we are going to take her to see an eye doctor. When Blair gets tired, her left eye gets lazy and looks outward so the doctor suggested that we go and see an eye doctor. I was hoping that Blair got Nick's eyes and eye sight since my suck. I've had glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 7th. I hope that we are able to fix her lazy eye by just using an eye patch on her stronger eye so that we don't have to think about eye surgery as an option. We are also going to go and see the dentist since it's about that time. I'm sure that she will need some laughing gas to get through the appointment calmly. Blair's eye appointment is July 20th and I still have to make the dentist appointment. Updates to follow!
Birthday Party!
Dora the Explorer has officially invaded our house. We had a great time at Blair's birthday party although we had a rough few days in our house. Blair got sick so we had to push her party off from Saturday to Sunday and then I got her cold. I have since given it to my mom, so we are just sharing in the love here! We were able to borrow a bounce house from one of Nick's coworkers and I have to say that I was amazed at what showed up in my backyard! I made really cool cupcakes if I must say thanks to Whitney's idea about dying the batter. I used pink, orange and yellow batter to make rainbow cupcakes. Someday I will figure out how much you fill the cupcake cup up with batter so my first dozen was very full and overflowing as they cooked, the second dozen was just right and the third dozen didn't have enough batter! Hunter decided that the cupcakes looked so yummy that he helped himself to a dozen, wrappers and all, while we were out running errands. Needless to say, I made another batch the night before the party. Blair decided that she would be prissy and ate her cupcake with a spoon after she sang herself "Happy Birthday"! I cannot believe that Blair is 2 already!!!! The time has flown by, especially this last year since I have been busy working. I can't wait to see what we plan for Blair's 3rd birthday party!
