Fun pictures

Since our Santa picture didn't turn out well, I needed to take some more pictures for our Christmas card. Maybe next year, I will be better about getting some cute pictures done before we see Santa so that I am not waiting until the last possible minute to send out my cards.

Santa

Our home owners association has a nice gentleman dress up like Santa every year and all of the kids in the neighborhood are able to go and see Santa and get a gift. We got Blair all dressed up and took her up to the club house. She was not really sure what was going on, but she knew that it was not something that she was going to like. I got the camera ready as Nick walked her up to Santa. As soon as Blair could tell that Nick was going to hand her to him, that is when the screaming started! She was so mad! So we have a wonderful screaming child picture with Santa this year. But she did get a magna-doodle/chalkboard so it wasn't a wasted trip!

Finger painting fun!

Nick's Dad was in the hospital for a few days with a kidney infection so we decided that Blair should do some finger painting to cheer him up and to help him get better faster! After a few days of antibiotics, he is doing fine now.

I was a little nervous about finger painting because the first time I tried it a few months ago, Blair was pissed that the paint made her hands dirty. She still does not really like to have her hands dirty, but we went ahead with it. She really surprised me and had a great time! I have to remember in the future to only give her a few colors. I gave her six and she mixed them all up and they changed to brown.

Christmas tree

Since we have done the "pick-your-own" stuff for apples and pumpkins, we decided to see if there was any place close to get our own Christmas tree. I ended up finding a place that looked like they would have a good variety of different types of trees to choose from in Suffolk. It was about a 45 minute drive to Santas farm, or whatever it was called. When we got out of the car, everything was very muddy because we have had tons of rain. We all went over to the counter so that they could tell us how it worked. The lady told us that there were some trees in the field but most everyone was buying the precut trees that they were bringing out. Well, we decided to trudge through the mud and check out the field. Boy, was this place a joke! Blair was taller that about a quarter of the trees and I was taller than the rest, and I'm only 5"5"! Needless to say, we decided to trudge back through the mud to the car and go to our local Farmers Market. We ended up with a great tree in the end!

Thanksgiving

Nick, Blair and I headed over to Nicks parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. Nick decided to fry the turkey this year for the first time. We are definatly going to keep this cooking method up because it takes no time at all to cook and it was very yummy. We had tons of delicious food and we are so thankful to have everything in our lives that we do.

Zoo

Nick and I took Blair to the zoo. She loves to go. I think that if we went everyday, she would never get bored. I think that the giraffes are her favorite. So there are some parts of the zoo that I apparently have never adventured into. We found the Homo Sapien Cages and jumped right in to take some pictures of the crazy humans!

Blair's favorite word

All I get from Blair lately when I ask her anything is "NOOOO." In the past few days, "no" is coming out crystal clear. She has been shaking her head no for a few weeks. And the fun has begun!

Trick-Or-Treating

We had so much fun last night! We ate pumpkin chili for dinner before heading out to getting dressed to get some candy. Blair was a firefly and Nick and I were Moose A. Moose and Zee from Nick Jr. (Noggin). Earlier in the day we took Blair to see Uncle Doug at work since he had to close and wasn't going to be able to see Blair in her costume. There is only one good picture of Blair with her hat on because she hates hats right now. Blair was not a fan of the wings on the costume until later in the evening when she realized what Trick-or-Treating was. Once we made it outside and finished pictures her grandmas and I took Blair around the neighborhood for almost one and half hours. Nick stayed back at the house to scare kids. Blair loved to ring doorbells and pick out her candy. She held onto the candy that she just got until she got new candy at the next house. She wanted to eat candy while we were out, but I just wanted to hit as many houses as we could. After we were done, we got her changed into some nighties and attempted to get her to go to sleep. She fought it for quite a while and I finally had to put her in her crib and let her cry it out. She was just so tired from the day, she didn't want to go to sleep and miss anything. After Blair finally went to sleep, I joined the neighbors outside for a few drinks before heading to bed. We had such a fun day that we are having a lazy Sunday!

Haunted Lawns!

For the second year in a row, our neighbors and us have decorated our yards with tombstones, spiders, and skeletons. Also, Elliot, built a spooky tunnel in his driveway. He did it last year as well, but this year he improved it. Last year, it was just a straight tunnel with strings and spiders hanging from the ceiling with fog. This year he had a few turns built in. It is quite a sight to watch the guys get it put up. The guys finished up the tunnel and started to let kids go through about 5 minutes after Trick-or-Treating officially started. There were tons of kids and adults that came by and lots of people said that they came by because of last year and wanted to see what we came up with this time. It was tons of fun!
